About me

Ruth Danes is a pseudonym because writing fiction is a private part of my life.

I have enjoyed both history and fiction since my childhood and I have lived in four different countries. These interests and experiences inspired me to write the Life on Another Island series, which is set in a world where many characters unexpectedly start new lives in foreign, sometimes seemingly hostile, lands.

North of the Azores is the first novel in the series. It is published by Rogue Phoenix Press and it is for sale on Amazon. The tale continues in Life on Another Island and concludes with The Heiress to the Fairy Tales. A spin-off, Transtime, is now available.

I have also written a contemporary thriller, The Flower and the Wolf, which is also published by Rogue Phoenix Press.

I have completed another alternate history novel which  is completely different to the Life on Another Island series.  It is called The Deadly Favour. It is the first book in The Woldsheart Chronicles and and is published by Next Chapter

The series continues with Another Green and Pleasant Land.

My latest published work is a stand-alone thriller called England’s Best Export.

I live in the heart of England and I work in administration. When I am not at work or busy with my imaginary friends, I like to dance, travel and walk in the countryside with good companions.
